We have had a psychotic black male guppy for a few months. He has tormented several other fishes to death, and we've been racking our collective brains to figure out what other fish we could possibly put into his tank kingdom with him. Finally, two weeks ago or so, we stopped at Petsmart where they had a suggestion: get him a girlfriend. We bought two, in fact, in hopes that his aggression would be divided between them. One vanished almost immediately. But the other has been quite happy. She even follows *him* rather than the other way around.

I've been saying for a week or so that she was pregnant; and it's apparent from all my research that female guppies are almost always pregnant even before purchase. Sure enough, today we discovered eight or ten baby guppies swimming happily about the tank.

If he eats her, maybe you could put some Xanax in the water.

Love the icon.

Adult fish are notorious for eating their young so if you don't have lots of greenery or other 'hiding places' for the little fishes, they will probably get eaten too.

I had live bearing fish for quite a number of years and it is always exciting to see them. I watched one of our black mollies give birth one time - looked like she was pushing pepper out into the water!

I miss having fish.....
