The insurance company finally paid up the $500 deductible from my accident in November--except they sent the check to him, and made it out to him as well because the insurance had been in his name at that point. He signed the check and gave it to me without any fuss: I didn't even know it had come. Well, he did fuss, but only about the insurance company bugging him and involving him in my claim.

I can really use that money right now, too. I've spent a lot of money on the house project--a bunch more just yesterday: I ordered three doors to be installed. Entry doors for the kitchen, basement, and garage.
