semperfiona: (demon baby)
Yesterday Rosa and I played hide-and-seek for a while, and then we stopped to put away clothes. Chris was watching TV and folding laundry in the TV room. While I was embroiled in my pile of laundry, she said "It's my turn to hide" and took off. Some while later, the following ensued.

Cellphone: *bingle*
Text message from Chris: "Where you @?"
Thumbs: *type type* "Bedroom"

Chris: "Are you hiding or is she?"
Me: "Her. I'm putting away."
Chris: "Aaah. When does seeking start?"
Me: "Shrug"

I then left off the Putting Away and commenced Seeking. Found the baby in the same place I had hidden the previous turn: Chris's closet.

This morning, I found the following message on my phone from yesterday afternoon.

Chris: "I only ask because my closet is getting impatient, and a little scared of the dark."

I gave Rosa a chocolate-covered cake bunny just now. She left it on the table, leaned over and licked off all the frosting, and is now eating the cake, all without lifting it from the table. A smily two-year-old face covered in chocolate frosting. ;-)

Rosa has acquired the phrase "Please with sugar on it". It's adorable.

Instantaneous baby silliness of the moment: she knocked down my mouse, which she does all the time. She then said "kiss it" because it fell down. I told her she should kiss it because she knocked it down. So she did.

And right now she just walked over and gave the cat a hug and a kiss.

All right, I've had my lovely wonderful binge of conversation, connected with many of the people that are important to me, Jen and Liz and Elissa and BriLee and Jay, and now I must go to bed and tomorrow go back to my own offline world.

I really needed this.

Jay asked me, on seeing me online tonight, "Does this mean you're back?"

me> No, actually, it means I'm cheating. ;-)

Jay> No you're not; you're poly. :-)

me again>Ya know, when it comes to novels, I'm serially monogamous. One book at a time, until it's finished. I'll occasionally have a fling with a magazine while reading a book, but almost never start a new book until I've finished the preceding one. Non-fiction seems to work differently. I can pick it up and put it down, read a novel or three before actually finishing.

AIM, on the other hand... Four conversations at a time, minimum. ::snicker::

Today's funny Rosa quote...

She was bitten at daycare a couple weeks ago. Tonight she asked me "Who did that?" pointing to the remnants of the bruise.

I said, "I don't know, who did that?"

She said, "A boy."

I said, "A boy?"

She said, "A nasty boy," and grinned at me.

The other thing Rosa's been doing lately that's really adorable and melts my heart, is asking me to sing the "Baby Mine" song from Dumbo. We snuggle and cuddle and I sing it to her, and she asks for it again and again.
